A gorgeous children’s book for ages 3 and up about the life of the Prophet Muhammad. The story focuses on the magical, the ethical, and the goodness of the Prophet’s life and mission. It stresses good relationships with the Muslims’ neighbors in Medina and mutual generosity of spirit. The illustrations are lush and done in the style of Persian miniatures. Verses from the Qur’an are quoted throughout, so it is also a lovely way to bring the meanings of the Qur’an to your children’s hearts. Some reviewers have noted that the language may be a bit complex for younger children, but parents can certainly summarize while reading as their little ones are drawn into and get lost in the illustrations. This is the same illustrator of Lumabard’s Conference of the Birds.
